My daughters & diarrhoea !

My older daughter had recurrent diarrhoea until just before she turned 7. All the women in my husbands family suffer from Chrons that presented in their teens, so we were understandably worried. My daughter had numerous tests but nothing was found & we are relieved that now she appears to have grown out of it. Unfortunately her sister has the same trouble, she is 4 & as yet tests have shown nothing wrong. However with her having to constantly either miss school or have an accident at school, it's horrible for her. Both girls have never been ill with it, but with the family history & both sisters having the same trouble I'm really worried it may be a sign of something else going on or that they may develop Chrons later on in life. Anyone experiencing or experienced similar it would be great to hear from you, please.

Should probably just say I also have 2 son's & both are fine, but that then adds to the worry about the fact that only the females in my husbands family have Chrons disease.

I suppose you have checked whether they have a food allergy/intolerance?

Maybe see if you can be referred to a dietician?

Been to the hospital several times, ruled out what they could & then tried to see if it may be something in their diet, such as too much or too little fibre etc. My younger daughter eats really well but my older daughter is a really picky eater. Couldn't find anything that was obviously causing it. I'm taking my younger daughter back to the doctor later this morning, I'm going to push for further tests & see if they'll do an allergy test to see if it might be gluten causing it as my friends little boy has just been diagnosed with coeliacs disease & it's got me even more worried.
