17 mo won't let me clean her teeth..

My 17 mo will not let me near her mouth with a toothbrush. She used to be fine with it until her back teeth cut now she pushes it out with her tounge , shuts her mouth, smacks the brush out my hand etc. I don't want to make it worse or an ordeal by basically holding her down to do it. But I can't let this one slide. She will take the toothbrush herself but only seems to suck the toothpaste off and chew the brush... Any tips or advice?

The Aquafresh app is amazing, little cartoon thing brushing its teeth with a song for two minutes.

Thanks. Going to download that now!

It was an overnight change for us! Though tbf DD wasn't refusing the toothbrush at the start, she just would only let us clean for a very short period of time. Maybe let her watch the app, see what the cartoon is doing, she might start copying.

Sainsburys sell a silicone tooth brush that they can chew. It's about £4 and is great. Looking forward to downloading the Aquafresh App.

How did it work?

My 14 month old daughter is the same. Only thing that works so far is getting her to brush teeth alongside me and her 3-yr old sister but even then the magic wears off after 30 seconds or so. I'm waiting for her teeth to drop clean out of her head. Will look up the aqua fresh app right now!
