3yo asleep after bumping head

Had a call to pick up 3yo ds from pre-school as he bumped his head. He has a lump on his forehead and a nasty bruise. He was bright and chatty on the way home and had a hot chocolate when we got in as a cheering-up treat. He then snuggled up on the sofa next to me and fell fast asleep. Am I right that this is ok? He usually has a nap after pre-school so it's quite normal for him. It is the case that the advice to keep them awake after a bumped head has changed, isn't it? Just want to make sure he is definitely ok!

if it is normal for him then leave him to sleep as normal, just make sure he is rousable every so often and that he doesn't sleep a lot longer than normal

We were told on the numerous times we rang NHS direct that as long as they don't sleep longer than usual and you can rouse them. Also being sick once is ok, more than once you need help. Once he is awake get some arnica cream it really helps reduce bruising.

Thanks - I mentioned the hot chocolate as I think that means he wasn't feeling sick. Will let him have a full hour as normal and then wake him up. He is asleep against my bump and I can feel the baby nudging him! Very cute.

He had just started to settle well at pre-school so really hoping this doesn't set us back! He was claiming that a 'naughty boy' pushed him but the teacher told me he fell. I am worried in case this causes any more problems!

Thanks for the advice, I am sure he is fine but it's always worrying!
