Newborn gaining too much weight?

Just weighed my 4 week old and she has gained 2lb5oz on birth weight! This seems a lot to me, does anyone know if that is too much? Am breast feeding.

It's is an impressive weight gain, but within the range of what is deemed to be OK.
What did she weigh at birth?

My baby gained slightly more in the first month. I wasn't worried in the slightest, I felt really proud they gain weight the fastest when they are under 6 months and then it tapers off. You are doing a great!

My dc where huge, dc1 was 18lb at 8 weeks.

My first DS was the same, 7lb13 at birth, dipped to 7lb4 at one week old. By the time he was three weeks old was 10lb, by the time he was 12 weeks he was 12lb. I was questioned and told that it would be a problem if he was being bottle fed, which he wasn't. Wouldn't worry, it does slow down.

My midwife told me that she's never seen an over fed breast fed baby, it's not possible in her view. I'd be proud that you are obviously producing a ton of lovely milk for your boo.

OP...DS1 weighed 5lb 14oz at birth, came out of hospital at 11 days weighing the same

15 days 6lb 12

4 weeks 7lb 11

6 weeks 9lb 8

8 weeks 11lb

I did have a HV say..."oh we will have to do something about this".. Not quite sure what they were planning to do
