I don't want to be unnecessarily .pestering Dr as I already have been but ds has had 2 lingering viruses close together which I've also had so know how he felt/ feels! both have been bad coughs, the first seemed to give him an ear infection too for which he had antibiotics. he was getting random temps with that.

I'm now better from this one (I'm bf so hoping my antibodies transfer!!) but he's not and his chest is now very bubbly and crackly. is fine in himself except finding it really hard to breathe at night so a bit tired and clingy. his grandfather has had the same thing and is now on antibiotics.

would a bacterial infection be giving ds temps? ie only worry Dr if that starts to happen? I know coughs can linger a while.

We have had this, back to back, up all night coughing. Both Dcs have it, 3 visits to the docs, not on chest. I am getting it now. Grim.

oh my sympathies. Sad this last one ds and I literally could not sleep lying down. it was so itchy I had some of the piriton he'd been prescribed for the hives he had with the previous virus.

couldn't quite bring myself to give it to him. though feels like I buy calpol every week

Been three times in the last few weeks with my dd 8months.That same crackly sound. She is full of beans and no temp.Lungs are clear.Just sounds awful.Doc says its mucus collecting in the upper respiratory tract because she hasn't learnt to cough enough.

This is a bloody nasty virus, my dc2 is spitting out tonnes of mucus, hopefully he is on the turn, we had a fever day yesterday, so hopefully it's burning it out his sytem. Weird thing is no loss of appetite.

Tbh, it's the first year of that nasal flu jab, and it sheds, supposed to stay away from elderly, etc. wondering if this could be the cause, in all my years of parenting never seen anything like this.

interesting rip - Dr did say he'd not seen a winter like it for coughs etc. and staff at work (school) seemed more affected than usual too.

we've finally turned a corner but with the two viruses it's been around 6 weeks of feeling very ill.
