Omeprazole and insomnia

My little boy started Omeprazole ten days ago and after about 2/3 days he started having real trouble going to sleep. He seems drowsy and shuts his eyes but can't seem to fall asleep properly, if I try and put him down or leave the room his eyes ping open again. This is going on for hours during the night. Has anyone else experienced anything like this on Omeprazole? I'm not sure whether to persevere with it or go back to the ranitidine.

My DD 12 years was on omeprazole for 3 months but I didn't find any problems with sleep for her. Although saying that she was waking up due to stomach pain, so possible that the omeprazole wasn't helping
