Natural Sleep Aid - Are They Safe for 11 yr old ???

I'm thinking things like calms etc - any recommendations appreciated too :)

DD does have Ehlers Danlos, so sleep is often a problem for her anyway, but its offthe scale atbtbe moment & none of my usual natural lotions & potions are helping her at all - barely 2 hours last night & not much better the rest if the week.

I'm having similar trouble, so expect its weather related, but lack if sleep elevates her pain levels & pain stops her sleeping, so now stuck in a catch 22 cycle that I need to break - I'm wondering if she's nw old enough/ big enough for a herbal sleeping pill to be okay for her & if so, what's good.

TIA :)

You could try herbal sleep aids but I would check with a gp first, alternatively you could try giving her a herbal tea with herbs such as Passion flower, valerian, hops, lavender in them, often called night time tea.

Maybe a meditation or hypnotherapy cd played at bed time may help?

I hope that you both get better rest soon

Thank you Theo - I'm a bit of an old hippy with this sort of stuff, so I've probably tried most of the more obviously safe stuff, including magnesium, aromatherapy & even the CDs, I have a few different ones, but sadly not helping, nor did the teas, which she doesn't like anyway, so the stress of getting it down her was counter productive :(

I did go to our main herbalist shop & ask for help there, they recommended Weleda Avena Sativa Comp Drops saying they all contained similar ingredients, but that was one 2 of them had tried personally with good results, it was also listed as safe for 12 years & up & as DD isn't small for her age, they reckoned taking the lower dose should be fine for her.

Thankfully it was & it definitely seemed to help too, she her first full nights proper sleep in ages :)
