Ds age 6 came home from school on fri with high temp (39.6). Later started complaining of sore throat. Thought it was tonsillitis.
On sun noticed spots on tongue and inside of cheeks plus one on nose. By mon he had four or five spots around mouth and on chin. Thought it must be HFM.
Now the spots are all yellow and crusty and am worried it's impetigo. Can HFM blisters look like this?

I'm away from home so it's a bit harder to get a docs appointment but obviously I will try to if it doesn't look like it is Hfm as assumed.

Going to try to upload pic now

Just looked - not sure, sorry! Impetigo certainly has those crusty, yellow scabs.
Hfm was more small clusters of spots, often also on bum and thighs

Took him to a walk in clinic- Hfm AND impetigo. Apparently quite common as children scratch the spots and they then get infected. Have antibiotics for him now.

Hope he gets better soon Smile
