Chickenpox - how long is it contagious for before spots?

Went to a soft play on Monday with some friends, have just had a message that her dd has broken out in spots today. My DS and her DD were on bouncy castle together for about 30 mins plus they sat next to each other at lunch. How likely is it that my DS will now be contagious? NHS site says only contagious for 2 days before spots come which would mean friends DD wasn't contagious on Monday - but MIL says its 2 weeks.

I have a pregnant friend and a family member recovering from chemo - should we stay away from them to be on the safe side?

Tia

The incubation period is 10-21 days but they are only contagious for 1-2 days before the spots appear and for roughly 5 days afterwards (until they crust over)

P.s. No I don't think the other child would have been contagious when your lo had contact with them

Thank you - will tell my friend and cousin and let them decide - but otherwise think I'll just carry on as normal - cant live in a bubble on the off chance they may have caught it!
