When my DS age 4 did a poo a few weeks ago there were specks of blood on the paper. I took him to the doctor who was unconcerned. He had a look and said could see no fissure but it looked sore.

Ds had an anal fissure a year ago and on a doctors advise I gave him lactulose and used sudacreme and it healed in a couple of weeks. I have been doing much the same this time but it has still not stopped. It doesn't seem to be getting worse and is not every time he has a poo. I had a look yesterday and could see specks of blood on his bottom, I used a wipe and could see where the spots came from, it looked more like a graze than a tear. I have been cautious with the lactulose this time, maybe I am not giving quite enough?
Has anyone else had experience of this? I am taking him back to the docs tomorrow but I am very concerned.

I don't know but dd is the same. She is complaining of pain also so assuming fissure. Already had appointment at docs for docs tomorrow and will try and get some lactulose and prunes today. Has definitely been more constipated since starting school.....

My DD had this a couple of times, she used to get very constipated. Syrup of figs helped. Blood is scary but I wouldn't worry too much as if you solve the constipation problem it won't happen any more. My DD was fine after that.
