Sedation and milk timings...

Ds is will go under sedation (MRI on brain) appt is at 12 for the scan we need to arrive at the hospital 2 hours earlier, it's NIL by mouth solids 6 hour, milk 4 hours, liquid 2 hours, question, is it based on the time we arrive or the appointment time? Ideally I'd like to give him milk when he wakes between 7-8, i'll double check with the hospital but in the meantime anyone know? Thanks

How old is he?

Of your app is at midday, I would start the last milk feed at 7.30, aiming to be done by 8am, then water until 10am.

Thanks, I've spoken to the hospital and they want to use 10am as guideline so no milk from 6am even though appt is noon, he's 5 so not a baby, but still my baby hate the thought of him being hungry! :( trying not to worry but when the hospital appointment letter is hand delivered on a Sunday night early Monday morning it's hard not to! sigh..

Ds has had to be under sedation twice (grommets) so nil by mouth. It wasn't a major issue for him either time, except he walked into the hospital ward and announced mummy was trying to starve him to death.

He's due for grommets again, and I've promised him this time a midnight feast. I will wake him about midnight and he can have a little to eat. He's keen to also go for a midnight scoot, which I've said depends on the temperature! He's quite excited by that, and understands that when he wakes up in the morning he can have no food. I've explained why.

Hope his scan gives he best possible result.
