Dd is 5. Was perfectly fine and then suddenly in the early hours if the morning 3 days ago started puking. Puked 10 times, diahorrea also. Later on the same day that seemed to all calm down, ate half a piece of toast at dinner time. Just a d&v bug I thought. That night, high temp controlled by nurofen. Next day, high temp- nurofen and calpol. Next day seemed quite fine in the morning, then afternoon evening and night needed calpol and nurofen for temperature. Today, had temperature and been on sofa sometimes sleeping, tired etc. Ate decent dinner (no other meals wanted). Now temp is still high. She has managed to go to sleep just now with damp towels on her arms. I dont know if i should keep on with the cqlpol and nurofen. I have always kept her slightly under the maximum number of doses and tried to stretch out the time between doses. Any idea what this is or What should I do? Thanks for any help.

If it were one of mine I'd call nhs direct and see if I could get seen at an out of hours clinic. 3 days of fever is quite a long time in small children. I'd hate to make any guesses to a diagnosis, I'd want to see a doctor. But don't want to sound scary at all! Good luck.

Could be two viruses in a row, but phone if you are concerned
