Is this whooping cough?

I don't think so but trying to work out what is wrong with my 18 month old.

He's off his food totally. Only drinking for the last 4 days. Has about 3 coughing bouts a day that seem to stick in his throat and ends with spectacular volumous vomiting.

He has a bit of a temperature and is teething molars. Though he has moments of misery, he's mostly chirpy (though won't eat).

Any ideas?

Really hard to know. Even more so, if he has been vaccinated as he then may not have the whooping sound.

Whooping cough is a notifiable disease, do you know whether there is an outbreak where you are?
