Dreadful cough

DS had his flu thing on Thursday. The doctor listened to his chest and said it was clear. He's since developed a dreadful, hacking cough. He had a slight temp yesterday. Eating and drinking normally. Good form. He was breathing fast-ish earlier so I gave him his inhalers (he doesn't have asthma, he has them as he is chesty). Should I try to get a doctors appointment tomorrow or just ride it out?

My ds has just recovered from croup which is a barking sort of cough if you feel you need to call a doctor then follow your instincts I'm not sure what a hacking cough means it could just be a case of cold or a small reaction to the flu thing your ds has had
