Stomach pain and hunger

My friend's 11yo DS has been poorly for nearly a week, nothing major, a headache and tummy pain. No sickness, temperature or other symptoms but he has massive appetite and seems to be constantly hungry.

He's just been lying on the sofa all week watching telly and feeling sorry for himself.

What could this be?

He's been under a lot of pressure lately with school exams, entrance exams, and sports assessments and was supposed be the star part in the school Christmas play, which he missed. Could it be related to this? He's very eager to please.

Could it actually be heartburn caused by the stress? I get hunger pains which are actually heartburn pains as it's easy to confuse the 2 as they feel similar. See if he has a glass of milk or some antacids (of ok for his age) if that helps the paim at all?
