Tongue blisters

These last few days my 6YO DD has had a bit of a cold, nothing major, but then she started saying that swallowing was painful. Then yesterday I noticed pretty bad blisters under her tongue and on the side, there was also a little white patch on the bottom lip. Her breath wasn't great. I took her to doctors who prescribed antibiotics which she's taking now. Today her tongue is more red than white. Eating is painful. Is there anything that can be applied locally to ease the pain? Any ideas as to what she might have? Having googled it, I keep getting hand foot and mouth disease, but she doesn't have that type of pox-like spots anywhere.

My DD had hand foot and mouth without the hand and foot bit - If that makes sense. Is there lots of dribble?

Cold sore virus spread into mouth? First time they get it can be horrible.

Mine has just had hand foot and mouth. But the spots on her hands and feet were more like red spot rash. Heat rash sort of thing
