DS is 4. As a baby he had up to 15 bowel movements a day which were green and explosive.

When weaned, he frequently had a peri oral rash after eating dairy. He also had eczema. He was a terrible sleepier, had stomach cramps and later developed chronic constipation.

We saw two consultants who agreed he was milk intolerant but that milk should be kept in his diet.

He then became quite poorly (enlarged lymph nodes, dodgy FBC, drowsy, pale etc) and we were referred again. The allergy specialist said to remove dairy immediately. We did and he became a different child- his constipation went within days and his appetite increased massively. This was a year ago.

We replaced milk with soya. On occasion he would have terrible diarrhoea again but this was mainly when we were on holiday and had eaten out. I put it down to there been traces of cmp in his food.

However, recently the diarrhoea is at least a twice weekly occurrence. He's soiling himself when he breaks wind. The dietician thought it could be the soya and I cut it out and replaced with almond milk. The diarrhoea stopped for two weeks but is back again.

He's had a coeliac test which was negative. He had some dodgy thyroid readings too but isn't taking medication.

I've taken a photo of his bowel movement today (he's had two like this after lunch and had four on Sunday) and have put it on my profile in desperation. He has a private consultation on 7th Jan but I don't know what I should be asking for!

Thanks for reading!

Hi there Smile

Can I advise you to repost this in the allergy section (also under health) as that's where you will get the most help.

Have you ever seen a gastroenterologist? Do you still the allergy team?

PickledMoomin · 04/12/2013 21:57

Never seen the gastro. Have only ever seen allergy specialist privately.

We were referred via NHS to have lymph nodes double checked and they picked up a heart murmur but didn't seem as bothered about his tummy.
