How long is conjunctivitis contagious for?

DD was given eye drops by the GP for conjunctivitis yesterday afternoon. Symptoms started yesterday morning.
Is she able to go back to school tomorrow? NHS website says not to keep them off but that seems rather unpopular!

We kept DD at nursery with conjunctivits. Thankfully she got it just before the weekend so she had a couple of days for the drops to kick in before she headed back to nursery.

If she is well within herself, I say put her back.
