Chicken Pox - how long off school?

DD was sent home from school vomiting on Weds and quickly a rash developed spreading down her body from behind her ears, neck, she is now covered and they are itchy. Spots are like chicken pox, so now assuming we have them.

She is already climbing the walls. What is the current guidance on when they can go back to school? She is distraught that she is missing school, especially as they are ramping up the build-up to Christmas next week. She is only in Reception but LOVES school.

TIA

till every spot has crusted over. Get some Piriton and gel (can't remember what it's called).

Sorry, when DD had it she was off for 2 weeks.

She can go back when all the spots have dried up. DD2 was off for 3 weeks as she had several large pocks that refused to dry up!

If you are lucky she should be good to go back by weds/thurs of next week.

Thanks.

Have Piriton, Calamine lotion, bicarbonate of soda for the bath and someone else suggested Aloe Vera gel, so covered (no pun intended) on the medication front.

Just waiting now...

Ah one bless you....I only used Piriton for the itching and the virasoothe But it won't hurt to be stocked up. Dd was covered from head to toe but fine in herself. It did take ages for them to finally go though....Good luck bet there will be lots of spotty faces at the Christmas concert etcWink x
