Blood in 5yr old's vomit

My dd1 has been vomiting for over 36 hours straight (well over 60 times now). Then an hour ago her usual clear vomits have come out brown and smeared with globs of brownish blood. The out of ours GP has advised that she go to hospital and she's just left with her dad. Now I'm sitting at home worried to death....

Most likely cause given her age and severity of vomiting is Mallory Weiss syndrome - basically a small tear in the lining of her oesophagus due to prolonged vomiting. It should get better on its own but she may need treatment for dehydration and/or to stop the vomiting.

Easier said than done I know, but try not to worry.

Thanks. I was wondering if her vomiting was a bit excessive. I haven't seen it this bad before.
