Measles

Hi, looking for advice. My friends partner has measles and I'm due to see them in 5 days. His rash went away 2 days ago so will be 7 days by the time I see them.

My worry is that I have a 5 month old and terrified she might catch it?

Anyone any knowledge on this? If I just meet with my friend and not her partner is that safe or can she be a carrier?

According to NHS measles ceases to be infectious 4 days after the rash has gone, so after 7 days her DP should be OK.

The incubation period is 7-12 days, so it is possible at if he has passed it on to her, she will be incubating it, and you become infectious about 2 days before symptoms appear.

If your friend has previously had measles, she will be immune, and if she has been fully vaccinated, it is very likely she will be immune. Do you know if either of these apply?
