Hi I have recently swapped my 3 week old from breastmilk to formula and she didby have a bowel movement for a day and half and seemed to be very fustrated with constipation showing all the sighs of it, then today she woke up screaming and went beetroot red as she strained and pushed out a very big and liquid poo. Now she seems to be going back to that fustration stage. Just wondering if anyone knows anything to help Tia

try a little boiled water see if that helps. im sure i read somewhere babies on formula need water for thirst. or it could be just that her body is adjusting and it will take a little time.

Ff babies only need water for thirst in summer if it's hot. It's probably due to changing milk but you can give small amounts of cool boiled water in between feeds. Have you tried tummy massage and leg cycling? Your hv should be able to show you how to massage her tummy.

My hv told me to give diluted freshly squeezed orange juice to my DS when he was constipated at that age, I didn't but its worth asking them for advice.
