12 month old diarrhoea for 13 days

Hi all,

I need some advice, I am really quite worries about my ds who turned 1yo a couple of weeks ago.

He has had diarrhoea for 13 days straight now. I am talking 10 + episodes of watery poo every day. I have been in touch with the dr, health visitor etc but I feel like nothing is happening. On Thursday evening I had a call back from the dr who advises no solid food and that first appt I could get would be Tuesday (tomorrow). So my poor ds has had no solid food for coming up to 96 hours now and seems worse rather than better. He has had a temp since Friday (38.5 - 38.5) too. I took him to the out of hours at hospital yesterday but they said he is not poorly enough to admit. But surely this level of diarrhoea in someone so young is not right?!

We took in a stool sample on Thursday morning. Results still not back.

I have called surgery this morning but still not heard back. I'm really worried about him. Sad

Does anyone know what this might be? Or has anyone had any experience if thiswith their dc?

That should have read 38.5 - 39.5.

Go to a&e. If the surgery isn't taking it seriously then someone there will.

Definitely a&e. That's a long time to a) have that level of diarrhoea and b) have had no solid food. They will definitely take you seriously.

Do you think so? Even though out of hours nurse said that he was not poorly enough to admit yesterday evening?

Btw - I will not be one if those annoying OPs who just ignores everything you all say! I just want to be sure.

To be fair, he was toddling about the waiting area as she called us in, so I do see that to her he looked quite well. Blush But 13 days!!!!

Drs just called, results of sample still not in. Not likely to be back until wed so advised to cancel appt that we had booked for Tuesday.

Now have appt booked for Thursday instead.

Nurse said if he's running around still then he's fine?!? Really? After 13 days?

Do you think I should just take him to a&e? I don't want to waste anyone's time, as he does seem ok most of the time.
