Hi i took my son to gp today as he has been frequently scratching and says that he is itchy inside his penis. He also complains about pain at the sides of his body which rise up and then disappear usually in the bath. Gp checked him out and found nothing wrong and no urine infection and said he will grow out of it. We also saw another gp back in april about something similar feeling the need to wee but nothing coming out. Again was told nothing wrong just to drink more. Not feeling reassured! Anyone else had this experience with their son or know what it might be?

Itchy inside of penis sounds like it could be an infection? Did the go check? I'm not a health professional though.

my ds who is 5 had an itchy penis underneath his foreskin, when i took him to the doctors they said it was thrush and prescribed him canesten which cleared it up very well.

doctor also said that when ds is in bath to make sure he pulls his foreskin back to clean it because it can be easily forgot about and thrush thrives there because it it warm and damp.

I hope this helps and wasn't tmi :)
