On Wednesday evening after his bath I noticed ds2 had a couple of spots on his feet, on closer inspection I found a couple on his ankles and knees and a couple on his hands. I immediately considered hfm but it looked different to the more blistety rash he had when he and ds1 had it a couple of years ago. I was unsure so took him to school and a at with nursing experience took a look and said she wasn't sure either bug to leave him at school and they would phone if I was needed. No phone call but on collecting I could see more had appeared so told his teacher that I may not bring him in on Friday which I didn't.
The thing that is having me unconvinced is that it is a definite spots, it hasn't blistered and is very itchy, last time it blistered and was very sore but not itchy. The spots are confined to the lower legs from the knees to the toes and lower arms from the elbows to fingers. No spots anywhere else, no temp, no runny nose etc and his mouth has not been sore at all. Last time both boys started in the mouth. Does this sound like hfm that your child has had? If it is no better by Monday I will be popping him to the drs for confirmation or diagnosis.

Chickenpox ?

Try and antihistamine in case it's an allergy

Chicken pox was another consideration but the spots are completely different and again no blisters, plus only on the limbs so probably not. I have been giving antihistamine and using an antihistamine cream to help.
