Is it just us whose child is catching everything since going to school

My ds1 Who is 5 started school and he seems to be catching everything that is going. He now has another temp of 39oC and generally unwell. This has been the 5th thing he's had in the past 6-8 weeks! Is it just us or is this normal. I'm talking like unwell to the point of keeping him of school!

It happened to mine when they started nursery (which was a massive germ pool because it was on a university campus so got germs from all over the world) so when they went to school they'd had everything and hardly got ill at all.
I think it's fairly normal tbh. Will be doing this immune system a lot of good though I appreciate it's a massive pain in the neck (and not very nice for him either, poor thing.)

Must be the time of year. My dd has had two rounds of d&v and croup in the last 4 weeks. I've taken so much time off work I'm genuinely concerned I'm going to lose my job....!

My son has been to nursery since 6 months old. Thought all this was behind us as he's been fairly well until he started school. I hear you - sure my work is fed up of me saying my kids are not well!

We haven't had a whole well week since DS1 started nursery in September and he only goes two mornings a week! A cold, a tummy bug, a non-specific virus, another cold, croup which came on so badly he turned blue and needed an ambulance and a night in hospital FGS! followed by another cold and a random rash.

I really hope it gets better next term!

Oh yes! Fine today. But DS1 is going out with his cousin today who has a cold and an ear infection so off school. I daresay in about 4 days we will be back in the throes Angry.

Ho hum.

When ds started school (and dd was a baby) in his first term he had 2 x tummy bugs, slapped cheek, hand foot and mouth, chickenpox, 2 ear infections, 2 chest infections and a never ending stream of colds.

I feel your pain!

DS too. New school and he's had allsorts. Mainly tummy bugs (which I now have too).

Same when DD started school it does get better though they spend the first year building their immune system then they're fine and strong
