hello.. my baby is due to have her bcg vaccination on the 29th of this month.. i am wondering what the possible side effects are apart from blister? will the blister hurt my baby's arm constantly or will she be ok? she is pretty small so i am worried that she may feel pain after the vaccine.. please tell me if anyone has given their babies bcg vaccine and did it hurt afterwards?? all advice is deeply appreciated.

Nothing at all happened to my DS afterwards.

My ds wasn't affected at all. The blister will scab and fall of after a few weeks, leaving it a bit weepy. You'll find gunk on clothes in the morning. Just make sure it's clean and don't touch it too much. He's now 2 and you can barely see the scar.

Nothing here either. My dts were around 4lbs when they had theirs and no after effects.

My DD was just under a month old when she had her bcg, and I think the jab itself was a bit painful as if I understood correctly it needs to be given in between skin layers so you have to hold her firmly, but afterwards she had no reactions to it.
Nurse said than after 6 weeks or so the blister will appear which was true. It is still reddish and as theoneandonlyalpha said, every now and then I see some gunk on her sleeve and the scab fell off a few times but it doesnt seem to be causing her any pain at all.
Good luck to your lo, Im sure everything will be fine
