Sudden rattley cough

Not massively concerned just unsure what to do to help my 12 month old. She's started with a rattley cough this afternoon and now sounding like a percolator as I put her to bed.

Haven't done a cough yet. How can I help her.

Try to raise the head end of her cot. I put a spare pillow under my dc mattress and that lifts it enough and this will help relieve the night time coughing which is usually worse than in the day. I rub a little menthol rub on my dc feet and chest and this also seems to help a little. I also make sure I leave his sippy water cup in the cot so he cam have a drink and go back to sleep if he feels thirsty from coughing in the night.
