I have posted this elsewhere, then found this page!! I've discovered what I'm presuming is a verrucca on DD's second toe pad. She swims weekly with school & I'm assuming that's where it's come from. What do I do with it? Hear lots about how they take aggeessss to clear.....

ds1 has one too, and i did a lot of googling and general consensus seemed to be to just leave it.
apparently a lot of the treatments for them don't actually really work anyway.

that said, ds1 has had his for aaaaaaaaages now, so maybe we should do something?

helpful post huh?

We bazooka-ed. Apparently (according to my GP friend) if you apply it religiously every day for 3 months, 8 out of 10 verrucas will disappear. The problem is that most people don't do it every day. I used it on my ds and they (multiple veruccas - mmm, nice) all disappeared within a month.

Duct tape apparently

I hope she is using one of those plastic socks for swimming.

I took DS to the chiropodist for his verruca but it is not a cheap option.

My daughter, aged 10, had this on both her heels for over year. She also probably got it at the swimming club. I only started paying attention to it when I noticed her walking on her toes. She said walking on toes was less painful! I did the usual stuff - first the tape with salicylic acid, moved on to bazooka, then duct tape and even banana peel! Nothing seemed to touch them! I was told to try Thuja Occendtalis (homeopathy); it worked like a charm! I gave her the sugar pellets 3 times a day by mouth and applied the liquid over the verrucas in the evening after her shower. I think we did this for 4 weeks.

Thanks all-she isn't swimming till after mid-term & possibly not for all of Nov as think it's the turn of other classes. So hopefully this will give me enough time to sort it out! Her little sister starts swimming in Nov till Feb on.a weekly basis though so think I'll invest in socks as a preventative measure for her & definitely for Dd 1.

I painted DT2's with black nail varnish. His went with in 3 weeks or so. Something to do with cutting out the light. Probably just a fluke tho'

Bazucca has worked for us for both ds and dd but I put it on every day without fail, it's labourious but it will eventually work!

Duct tape was tested (with a control group) on Channel 4's Health Freaks (Episode 1 if you want to watch it). It worked really well - all veruccas reduced in size and one disappeared during the trial period.
