and DS is still vomiting regularly. He's not eaten or drunk anything really since yesterday so is constantly bringing up just bile and he looks so exhausted from it all.
I don't really know what to do. I was told by the Dr at A&E he could get worse before he gets better, but unless he has blood in his urine then it's something that will get better on it's own. There is no treatment.

I asked a friend to find anti sickness medicine but there isn't anything for children, just Dioralyte for rehydration but he can't keep fluids down for long so that doesn't really help.

What do we do? Just wait it out? I can't stand to see him so listless and fragile and sad Sad

Oh your poor DS. I would keep going with the dioralyte, even if just tiny bits stay down it will help.

Poor thing. I'm not sure what HSP is, I did google it and lots if things came up - is it the one with the nasty rash? Diarolyte makes my sons vomit - they hate the taste so if needed I offer them flat coca cola instead.

I hope your DS is feeling better soon.

Thank you guys. I was really worried about him last night and called the children's A&E department. Spoke to a doctor who said to bring him in whenever I wanted to, but to try and monitor fluid intake at home (20mls every 15 mins). I wondered if he might need to be put on a drip but she said they really don't like to put little ones on drips. She was really helpful actually and put my mind at rest.
I'm never one to panic normally and my DS's are both very healthy children (this is the first time I've had to deal with real illness!) so to see DS2 so ill was a bit new to me!

He seems much better this morning. Still covered in a spotty rash and hasn't passed urine for a long time, but is eating and drinking again (after about 48 hours of nothing) and being his normal silly self. This could be the Nurofen and Calpol mind you.

I'm hoping we're over the worst of it. Thank you for your responses Smile

Minimooch, yes it's the one with the rash. Basically burst capillaries which are also present in the kidneys and also the digestive system, hence the vomiting. Not pleasant at all.
