Diarrhea in 8 year old DS

Ds age 8 has got really bad diarrhea. It started on Sunday but seemed to stop. I kept him off school on Monday, then yesterday morning he woke up with a pull up full of diarrhea (not dry at night so still in pull ups). It continued all of yesterday and he's had to ware his diaper as he couldn't make it to the bathroom and was pooing himself every 20 mins. I5 calmed down by the end of the day but about an hour ago he woke me up with a filled pull up saying he had another accident. Not sue what to do. Very confused and tired, feel so sorry for him, I don't know if he can do another day of soiling himself and he is so embarrassed about warring his bedwetting diaper.

Thanks, should have replied sooner but he is better now. It continued for a few days and he had the week off school. There wasn't much luck with getting to the bathroom in time so he continued to fill his diapers. He got very upset when I took him to the doctors and he had to ware his pull ups. Its all over now thank god. Thanks for the advice x
