I've noticed a black spot around his molar teeth in between the gum. I am absolutely gutted :-( I am sure it is one of the molars that are next in live to fall out if they follow the normal pattern. He uses a electric tooth brush and mouthwash. I could cry. He isn't in any pain even when I touch it. I was hoping it was some food stuck inbetween. I've been researching and apparently pre babies have weak enamel. He was an early baby and I had pre eclampsia and was on tons of mess. I was hoping breast feeding would have strengthened them :-(((( . How was this effect his adult teeth??? Is there anything they can do to strengthen them his bottom adult teeth look yellow and not very dense and I brush them thoroughly :-(((

Don't panic! Take him to the dentist! If it's a cavity he'll treat it. That's what dentists are for. Don't worry. It happens. It's not your fault.

It doesn't matter. My son was 6 when he had a filling and he's not needed one since. He's 12. You are looking after his teeth. Some kids just need fillings- it's not always preventable. I imagine you haven't been feeding him coke from a bottle from the age of six months. There's nothing wrong with having a filling at 9. Not getting him regular dental treatment would be wrong, and lots of parents are guilty of that. An acquaintance's son had to have about 8 teeth out under general because she'd never taken him to the dentist! Shock

my 8 year old had to have a filling yesterday when we went for his checkup. He's somehow managed to break a bit off his molar but it wasn't hurting him and I had no idea. Dentist did it there and then, no bother at all.

Thank you I've been lucky and have never needed a filling which is why I feel so awful. I shall def be regulating what he eats from now on and what he drinks more closely. He doesn't have a lot of dairy as he hates cheese and milk :-/

But remember he may not have inherited your strong teeth. I didn't have a filling till I was 31. I assumed my kids would be the same. They're not.
