Can children catch tapeworm from cats?

Just discovered that our wonderful mouser Lenny has small passengers. (noticed a segment of tapeworm wiggling around on his tail.) He's been regularly wormed but possibly not with the right stuff. So I've ordered something different for him.

Meanwhile, DD3 has been pale, listless and lacking in energy for some weeks, and also has tummy aches around the navel I'm wondering whether she could have caught the cat's worms? Does anyone have any experience of this?
