My three year old son is getting glasses-he is very long slighted with +8 in one eye and +7.5 in the other. I know that getting him to wear them is going to be quite a challenge so any advice would be much appreciated!!

My little girl has very similar sight to your DS, and got her glasses just after she turned three, and she loves them! I think because her vision is so bad without them, she understood very quickly how good and important her glasses are, she's now 4.5 and very protective of them.
Does anyone close to you need glasses, could you make a big deal of how special they are, 'Just like so-and-so's'?
Fingers crossed it goes as smoothly for you as it did for DD.

DS1 started wearing glasses at 4, again for long-sightedness in one eye; his Dad wears them too which helped. We also had to do patching. We let him choose the frames and that certainly seems to help, even though it's not the cheapest option. Now DS2 says he wants glasses and he hasn't even had his pre-school screening yet!
