Hi my 11 month old son has been vomiting for 1 week now after any food and drink. I have been to.GP and an ear infection has been diagnosed and he has been given anti-biotics. This is now last day of meds and still no improvement. GP wasnt overly concerned as no sign of dehydration. I am starting to get very worried. Surely its not normal to continue to be sick for so long?

Did your baby go off his food at the start of the ear infection? The reason I ask is that when they get their appetite back they are often really hungry and so may bolt down their food and this may be too much all in one go and so they might vomit up the excess. Have you tried giving him just a very little food or drink and seeing if that will stay down?

Some must be staying down or otherwise he would be dehydrated. I think if it were me and I was still worried I would make an appointment to see another doctor - a week of sickness is a long time.

Good luck - it is horrible when they are ill.
