Poss baby diarrhoea - worth quarantining? WWYD?

5-month-old DS has had several more poos than normal in the last 24 hours, two that were unusually explosive-up-his-back. This is still only 4 in all, only 2 of which were voluminous (god sorry this is TMI).
I am not worried about him - he is EBF and I am just going to offer feeds very frequently, plus he seems totally fine and if it is diarrhoea, it's presenting as very mild in him.
BUT i have arranged to see a friend's newborn tomorrow (travelling a long way, haven't seen them in ages, would be hassle to rearrange) and obviously don't want to take bugs with us.
How do I know if this is even diarrhoea, as opposed to just a bit of a pooey day? WWYD?
