my daughter has had a fever and flu like symptoms, cough, runny nose...complaining of being very tired.
yesterday woke up with 5 mosquito bite looking itchy spots, on cheek, nose and one on arm..

I thought chicken pox, but today no new spots have developed. she still feels un well. what else could it be? even gp was a bit, unsure when I rang but said only come in if I was really concerned.

www.nhs.uk/conditions/chickenpox/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Have a leaf through here, lots of info on chicken pox but also a 'spot spotter' to see if you can visually recognise the rash on your child.

cheeks red?

Maybe slapped cheek. 2 of mine have had it similar symptoms to chicken pox.

StetsonsAreCool · 08/10/2013 12:37

My 3yo has similar, but the spots are all on her torso.

Can someone turn that link into one I can use in my phone please? Am at work so can't get online, but would be interested to see!

It could just be a rash connected to the flu like symptoms. My dc always get a viral rash towards the end of an illness.

laughingeyes2013 · 13/10/2013 22:42

Chicken pox and foot and mouth can get confused as they both blister.

Apparently some viral rashes can blister too!

I have an I diagnosed rash in my house and so its a diagnostic trip to the GP tomorrow. Don't want to waste his time but I think it's important to know if we have chickenpox.
