allergy test for dd 7

Dd 7 is having her allergy test this week (after months of backwards and forwards to doctors and waiting 5 months for the appointment).

We haven't been giving any instructions or info on what will happen, how long for the results, anything we should do before etc and I was just looking for any advice about what to expect.

I know very little. I do know a little about nut allergy testing. I think it will be done by skin pricks?
Is there a number on your letter that you could ring for a little advice?

Thanks for the reply, I think it would be skin prick. Just wondering if we get the results the same day, and how long the test takes etc.

Tried to ring the hospital, but its just the number to change appointment. The lady I spoke to tried to help but she was as clueless as me.

Make sure she doesn't have any antihistamine (piriton etc) for at least 3 days prior to the tests or it will effect the outcome. They forgot to tell us that the first time and she hardly reacted to anything because she'd had her piriton the morning of the tests!
If you do end up having to give her some make sure you tell them beforehand or they will interpret the results wrong.

Thank you, I thought that about piriton so she has not had any as I didn't want to mess the results up.
