Limping!

Hi,
Just wanted a bit of feedback really. My LO (3.5) woke up a week last Monday with a limp. Took him down to children's hospital ED and got him checked out. It improved a bit while we were there and the doctor said was probably irritable hip and to dose him with ibruprofen and come back if got worse/no better. We were off on hols for a few days then. He woke up the next day and was absolutely fine - running, jumping climbing as usual. That Friday we had a long car journey home and he was limping again as he got out of the car, after running round for a while he was fine so put it down to the tail end of the irritable hip. All fine all week but this afternoon he was out with my parents, fine most of the day - tearing round like a mad thing but then after a short car journey to the garden centre got out of the car and started limping again - this carried on til bed time. He doesn't seem to be in any pain with it - it's just like it's stiff.

We've been lucky to get a follow up appointment with the doctor tomorrow but in the meantime I've worried myself stupid (along with inadvisable googling...) and was just wondering if anyone else had any experience of this kind of intermittent limp - particularly with a diagnosis of irritable hip? Thanks and sorry if this is all a bit garbled!

I know this is extremely old but I'm just curious if you ever got to the bottom of this as my little one has been doing the same thing
