First post and looking for some advice!
My son was diagnosed with this condition a few years back and has gradually lost his right kidney function due to scarring. I know that its fairly common to have one kidney and his consultant tells me there's nothing to worry about in terms of his future health. I'm just a bit concerned that he still suffers intermittent pain which has lessened over the years, but still occurs occasionally. The consultant isn't convinced it's related to his duplex kidney, so we're none the wiser as to what is causing it, but it bothers me as it can be quite severe and distressing when it occurs. I'm not sure whether to try to chase this further or accept its one of those things he'll probably grow out of. Does anyone have any experience of this condition and pain?
