hi, I know its late/early but I hope someone is up to help. my ds is 10months and has been unsettled most of the night. He just woke with a pain cry, I went into him and he is red hot. Took his temp which is 38.5. I have given him calpol and as we cuddled he fell back to sleep. He is teething but hasn't sprung a fever with this previously. Should I be more worried or should I only call docs or nhs direct if his temp hasn't come down in an hour or so ?!?!?

I don't have any kids yet but I would be calling NHS now for a fever that high.

My children regularly get temps that high or higher, if he's settled now and had calpol I'd just keep an eye on him through the night. If temp doesn't go down or other symptoms then maybe ring nhs direct.

thank you both. He is still asleep, hasn't quite been.an hour yet but will keep an eye on his temp Sad
