I noticed that my 1 yr old son has a mouth ulcer on his bottom lip inside his mouth and another one on top?? He's teething too and really out of sorts but I just wondered if ulcers are a normal thing with teething?

I thought hand foot and mouth too. IME teething does not cause ulcers.

Oh ok, should I take him to docs? Sorry for my ignorance I've never come across this b4!!

It could be hand foot and mouth but actually some babies do get ulcers when teething, my friends baby did. She took him to get him checked out tho just in case.

Bonjela may help.

Ds got ulcers when he was teething.

DS2 had a mouth ulcer recently. Ambsol was the numbing agent of choice when i asked at the pharmicy - about £2.50 over the counter.
Why not pop in and see a pharmicist this afternoon, rather than wait for a GP appointment?

Mully27 · 02/09/2013 18:06

Oh brill! Thanks for that! Yes GP don't have any appointments till Friday! Hmm Thanks everyone for your help! My DD never had ulcers so I've never come across it before!!
