DD is 13 months she had had mucus in her stool for a few days but today stool has red clots in and blood like veins running through it. She is relatively well in herself but has been sleeping a lot.

Waiting on GP calling back but I'm worried sick Sad

We had this with DS when he was 5 months old. Most likely explanation is allergy (dairy, in his case), but he was actually kept in Children's Ward overnight for observation as there is very serious condition called intussuception which his symptoms looked very like, and which needed to be ruled out. For this reason, I'd ensure your DD is seen today without fail, even if that means A&E. DS's episode was at the weekend so we went to A&E on NHS Direct's advice and I felt pretty embarrassed that the staff would think we were ridiculous, so very shocked to be admitted!

She seems well in herself but has slept a lot waiting on my eldest coming home from school then will try GP again if I can't get them might a & e, I'm really worried and normally quiet laidback!
