measles or 3 day fever?

My ds is 8 months old, from Wednesday he had a fever between 38/39 degrees. Saturday he had no fever but today he developed a rash on his neck, a tiny bit on the side of his face and mostly on his back.

He has a cough but it's very mild he coughs maybe once every 2 hours.

He has been 100% well tge entire time, he is eating normally, crawling around lots and babbling. His sleep has been slightly worse but I think that is because we have been disturbing him by trying to take his temperature whilst he is asleep.

I am not in the UK, I called the equivalent of nhs direct to ask for advice and they said just take him to the Dr tomorrow, is this normal advice? I pointed out to her that ifit is measles it probably isn't wise for me to go and sit in a waiting room with a ot of other babies most of whom will be too young to have had tge mmr ( it's a specific child Dr that we are registered with and the waiting room is like a baby group always packed with young kids) she said oh well just stay at home then, there is nothing the Dr can do even if it is measles.

The country I live in has only very few cases of measles soim not sureif their advice is as up to date as tge UK's advice. We were in England this summer.

Does this sound like reasonable advice?

I think, from experience that he would have slightly different course of symptoms if it were measles - it sounds a lot like Roseola Infantum (is that what you meant?)

However I might be wrong

Do keep an eye out for any deterioration, ear rubbing, obviously, return of fever and so on. I would call the Dr tomorrow but not take him to the surgery,

if he seems otherwise well today then don't panic.

Possibly German measles (rubella). Does he have swollen glands at the back of his neck? Around the base of his head iykwim.
