My 5 month old has bumped her head, she cried when it happened but then was her normal self ... She's had a full bottle, and gone down to sleep, probably a tad earlier than normal, say 30 mins ... I'm really worried ? has this happened to anyone else ?

Yes my ds fell down 4 stairs, massive lump howled like mad, then ate his tea. Luckily my boss (was at her house) is a dr and checked him over, she told me to look out for excessive tiredness, dilated pupils, sickness. She even phoned the next day to check on him, if you are worried contact your dr or go straight to a and e.

He was absolutely fine by the way :)

The fact that she cried straight away us a good sign. Does she have a bump where she hurt it? Children are more resilient than we think, so, if she seems her normal self, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you are still concerned, or if she is sick, just give your out of hours doctors a call. They are usually really helpful and will reassure you. My 2 both bumped their heads at a young age, and each time, the nurse told me that it happens to all children at some point. Don't beat yourself up about it xx

The day before my dds first bday she fell over the side of the sofa and landed head first onto floor boards Shock

She had a huge bump on her forehead but was otherwise fine Smile

I am sure your baby will be fine as well, maybe just check in on her a couple of extra times for peace of mind.

She's fast asleep, I've brought in with me so I can keep checking on her. She's down to sleep earlier than normal, but only half an hour ? There's no cut and no huge bump, maybe a bit of a redness ? God, I feel sick

How did she bump it? Falling from a big height more dangerous etc than say toppling over from sitting up.

Any vomiting (except a one off immediately after the bump), unusual sleepiness, not being themselves, weird moaning, anything really and A and E is a must.

Hun it's completely normal to worry but it happens daily, if a bump has come up it's better, it shows the bruising has come out as apprise to inwards which can cause other issues.
If no bump be aware of any changes however generally concussion they tell you to let the child sleep but keep checking on her for any signs of changes. X
