Do they need to see a doctor?

DD2 and DD4 have both had episodes of diarrhoea and sickness since Monday night for DD4 and Tuesday for DD2. The thing is they have only been sick about once each a day, no warning and literally sick once and then no more for the rest of the day or night. They have diarrhoea but not so that they are constantly on the toilet, just when they go they go. I don't know what to do with them, they seem fine if slightly under the weather but that's it. I wouldn't usually take them to the doctors for D&V but the length of time (4-5 days) is what is worrying me.

If it is worrying then go. My gp once told me that no decent doctor would criticise a parent who bought their child in if they were worried about its health.

I would at least ring NHS direct (or whatever it's called now) (if you are in the UK obviously) and ask.

Actually, as it's BH weekend and you def won't be able to see anyone on Monday if it continues, scrap that, I'd ring the doctor, just to be sure, because it is a long time even though it's not acute.

Hope they feel better soon! Flowers

Thanks we live in the next street to the doctors so I think I shall ring at 8.30 and just get them in. DD1 and DD3 seem right as rain so hopefully it won't affect them, it's our village big fete weekend and there is loads that they all want to do.

They have been and he thinks it might be a case of mild food poisoning from a take away we had, he said that the worst should be over now and just to keep a eye on them. We're very relieved now :)
