Really sore bum

CarlyRose80 · 21/08/2013 19:52

My LO is 8 months old and the last day or 2 his bum is ridiculously sore. Red, blotchy and extremely sore to the point of crying every time I even go near him. He's pooing lots (up to 5 times a day)
I'm using cream but he's really sore and upset. Can anyone recommend or help??

Metanium cream is very good.

Also could it be a yeast infection? If so it might need canesten.

Try as much nappy free time as possible and lots to drink with no citrusy or spicy foods.

Think I'm going to ask doc to take a look if he's still really sore in the morning bless him

Take him to the doctor. If nappy rash doesn't clear up in a couple of days it could be fungal.

I second the metanium, but take to the drs to get checked out too.

Ours had bad nappy rash after having antibiotics. Sudacrem, metanium etc was not enough. Our doc was fab, prescribed timodine, which works if fungal (and has been great at times for us) but didnt work this time so she prescribed another one, the name escapes me but it is one that is usually for old people who get sore bums, it is waterproof nd shields their bum from the poo.

Deffo go to docs, if you can.

Docs prescribed some anti fungal/ steroid cream for him:-)
