Newborn with upset tummy...

DS2 was born on Sun night. I'm bf and feeding has been going fine, tho he does seem a bit windier (both ends!) than DS1 was. Anyway in last 3 hours he has done 3 v dirty, goopy meconium nappies and thrown up a good bit of yellowish vomit. His temp is fine, appetite seems ok but I cant remember if this much sick / poop is udual for a newborn. I think this seems a bit more extreme than usual, but not sure if there's anything that can really be done. Midwife will be out in the morning - should I head down to out of hours or hold off to see if he gets any worse?

Congratulations! I think if you're worried you should ring midwife/labour ward. However if he doesn't look poorly then I'd don't think I'd be too worried. DD was very productive of meconium and I think it can be normal for newborns to vomit mucousy gunk - having a clear out

There's nothing there that sounds particularly unusual - vomit will be yellowish because of the colour of colostrum.

If you're worried, you can phone your midwife for advice, they're the best first port of call with a baby, and they could reassure you over the phone.
