hi looking for some advice cause i dont want to seem silly by going to doc if no need. my 4 yr boy has a really large gland in his neck, it seems really swollen & has done for a while, although hes not been ill, just wondering if any1 else has experience of this, he really is a perfect healthy boy, just cant understand why this gland is so swollen, any ideas?

If you're worried I'd go to the gp just to get it checked out. It's probably just his body fighting a virus off or something but if its been there a while its probably worth getting it looked at even just to put your mind at rest. My ds had swollen glands on and off for a while and when I pushed his gp he referred him to a paediatrician and they eventually found out he'd had glandular fever. He was only 3 so it can affect any age. It took him a while to get over it.
Hope you get sorted though, it's always worrying but most the time it's just something simple.
