Infected graze gone weird in 10 yo ds - need ideas...

I took ds to walk in clinic last week as he had 2 big grazes on his knee that just wouldn't heal. Nurse said most likely impetigo/ some other infection and gave him fucidin cream. We have applied it religiously and the 2 grazes have improved massively although one next to it which was gained subsequently (!) has started to look better after having started to look dodgy However.... He now has what looks like little raised bumps around all the grazes the new scratch AND on his other leg which had a bite on it. It doesn't look 'wet' iykwim or smell but def isn't right. We have run the course of cream so not sure what this could be - any ideas. I can try to get him to drs in sat clinic if lucky but baffled by this.
Tks for reading essay!

I've had this once with dd1 she ended up needing three courses of antibiotics to clear it, I think they called it infected impetigo.

Okay, without a photo then my advice is back to Doctor or Health Centre in morning it could be a variety of things ranging from an allergic reaction to cream, infected hair follicle, sweat bumps or secondary infection.

The good news is that from your description it does not sound serious.

Good luck

Kingfisher, how did you get on ?

Any possibility there are tiny bits of gravel in the wound? These embed themselves in the open wounds and the scabs form over them but they won't heal properly with these foreign bodies in them.

I was wondering about a mild allergic reaction. Anyway, needs an expert to look at it.

Sorry to have not come back sooner, have continued to put in fucidin on dr,s advice ( dr phone service)

Has eased and is less lumpy at moment but will return to clinic this week to double check
